Loop 1604 Super Street

The Super Street, an operational and safety improvement for the Loop 1604 corridor, from Braun Road to SH 151 and Loop 1604, is designed to help increase the ease of use of this roadway in the highest traffic areas which exist today.

The proposed project is currently under environmental evaluation and information will be updated on this page on a regular basis.

The Loop 1604 Super Street consists for three separate projects to help improve operations and safety on the Northwest and West part of our community.

The first project - improvements at Braun Road, are being environmentally cleared by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and TxDOT will handle the construction work on this project.

Curious as to what is being done at Braun Road?  This is Phase 1 of the overall Loop 1604 Super Street work!

Improvements at New Guilbeau to SH 151 are being environmentally cleared by the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, and should this proposed project move to construction, TxDOT will oversee all construction. This segment is estimated to cost approximately $5.4 Million to construct and funding is under discussion.

The final proposed project, an underpass extending the mainlanes of SH 151 to Alamo Parkway, under Loop 1604, is being environmentally cleared by the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, and should this proposed project move to construction, TxDOT will oversee this project. This segment is estimated to cost approximately $18 Million to construct, and funds have been identified by the Texas Transportation Commission.
