US 281 Super Street
The US 281 Super Street, an operational and safety improvement for the US 281 corridor, is designed to help increase the ease of use of this roadway in the highest traffic areas which exist today.
Funded by funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), and the Advanced Transportation District, the US 281 Super Street is the first Super Street type project in the state of Texas.
Work on the US 281 Super Street started in March 2010, and was completed in the fall of 2010.
While not a permanent fix for the congestion on US 281, the US 281 Super Street is an interim solution, to provide relief today, while allowing the work of the US 281 Environmental Impact Statement to move forward.
